J B Hawkins Memorial Scholarship **New for 2022 Graduates**
Award: $1,000
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District.
- Awards granted will be paid to the college, trade school or other organization, that is recognized as being an institution of higher education or training, of the recipient’s choice upon proof of enrollment.
- Selection will be based on individual whose reputation and every day attitude displays

Carey W. Barr Memorial Scholarship
Award: $1500
- Applicant must have attended North Andrew his or her Junior and Senior years, and be a graduate of the North Andrew School District

- Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college of the student’s choice.
Lester & Helen Fothergill Memorial Scholarship
Award: $650
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District
- Ideal recipient is a member of Rosendale Christian Church
- Selection will be based on the applicant’s display of genuine qualities of respect, loyalty, consideration and compassion toward all persons, regardless of their age or walk in life. Once these initial qualities are met, the applicant must verify a true need for financial assistance and have a sincere desire to further their education.
Award: 3 recipients at $650
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District
- Selection will be based on academics, financial need, character, and involvement in sports and community activities.
- Three scholarships are available each year:
- One in agricultural studies, if possible with an emphasis on beef cattle.
- One in education, if possible with an emphasis on teaching reading.
- One will follow the same criteria as the North Andrew Scholarship Foundation, Inc. scholarship
Kevin Bauman Memorial Scholarship
Award: $500
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District
- Applicant must have maintained at least a 2.0 or “C” grade average.
- Selection will be based on academics, leadership skills, and extracurricular activities
- Applicant must show proof of being a member of FFA during both his or her Junior and Senior years of high school.
- Applicant must be planning to study in a vocational field such as, but not limited to, agriculture, construction, nursing, auto mechanics, conservation, etc.
William Hare Memorial Scholarship
Award: $500
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District
- Selection will be based on the applicant’s display of genuine qualities of respect, loyalty, consideration, and compassion toward all persons, regardless of their age or walk in life. Once these initial qualities are met, the applicant must verify a true need for financial assistance and have a sincere desire to further their education.

Award: $500
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District
- Selection will be based on the applicant’s display of genuine qualities of respect, loyalty, consideration, and compassion toward all persons, regardless of their age or walk in life. Wilton Adkins Memorial Scholarship
Award: $650
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District
- Selection will be based on the applicant’s display of genuine qualities of respect, loyalty, consideration, and compassion toward all persons, regardless of their age or walk in life. Once these initial qualities are met, the applicant must verify a true need for financial assistance and have a sincere desire to further their education.
Caroden & Helen Brewer Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have attended North Andrew his or her Junior and Senior years, be a graduate of North Andrew School District, and have a true desire to further their education.
- Applicant must maintain a 3.0 or “B” grade point average.
- Applicant must be interested in pursuing a degree in a Medical Science Field
- Scholarship may not be used for sports.
- This scholarships will follow the student up to 4 years of study, provided the student maintains a 3.0 grade point average.
- Applicant must prove a true need for financial assistance.
Gary Kennedy Future Teacher Scholarship
- Applicant must have attended North Andrew High School at least 2 years and be a graduate of the North Andrew School District.
- Selection will be based on academics, leadership, financial need, character, and community activities.
- Scholarship is to be used for the education for a future teacher. Student will indicate a good faith pledge that their intention is to become a teacher.
- Scholarship may not be used for sports
- This scholarship will follow the student up to four years of study, based upon yearly approval by the North Andrew Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors
- Applicant must be a graduate of the North Andrew School District
- Applicant must verify a true need for financial assistance and have a true desire to further his or her education
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or “B” grade average or above upon high school graduation.
- Selection will be based on the ability to work with people and display a sincere attitude of citizenship, respect, empathy, consideration, compassion, assistance, and support of others.
- Scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a degree related to Business, Accounting, Marketing, Computer Science, Office Skills/Secretarial Studies, or a related field. If there is not an applicant meeting those requirements, the scholarship may be awarded to a deserving student at the discretion of the North Andrew Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors.
- Scholarship will follow the student through a maximum of four years of study, provided the student maintains a 3.0 grade average, and continues to meet the above mentioned criteria.
- Scholarship may not be used for sports
- Recipient shall be encouraged to, at some time in the future, donate to this or another scholarship fund as a way of saying “thank you”, and returning financial assistance to upcoming recipients.
Ledger Herbert Memorial Scholarship
Amount:$1000 Deadline: April 1, 2021
This scholarship has been established to distribute funds to graduates of North Andrew High School R-VI to further their education and capabilities. Awards granted will be paid to the college, trade school or other organization, that is recognized as being an institution of higher education or training, of the recipient’s choice upon proof of enrollment.
CRITERIA: Will include academics, leadership, character, and community activities. Must have a sincere desire to continue their education and a need for financial assistance.

Award: $250 Deadline: March 1, 2022
The North Andrew FFA Scholarship has been established to distribute funds to seniors of the North Andrew FFA program to further their academic education. The winning recipients will be awarded their scholarship after proof of enrollment and will be paid to the institution of higher learning. This institution could be trade schools, vocational schools, junior colleges or four year institutions. Students must have been in FFA for the last 3 years and will be judged on academics, leadership, finance, character and community activities. Turn the completed application into Mrs. Holt.

The North Andrew Booster Club will be awarding TWO male athletes and TWO female athletes with a Booster Club Scholarship to be used towards furthering their education. The recipient will also have their name placed on a plaque of prior distinguished athletes that have represented Cardinal Nation with the integrity that has been associated with North Andrew.

This scholarship is available for females who reside in in Andrew, Buchanan or Doniphan Counties, at the time of application and must be majoring in education. Andrew County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Award: $250 Deadline: March 11, 2022
The applicant must be an Andrew County resident; parents of the applicant must have an active Farm Bureau membership for the past year. Applicant must show academic and leadership abilities. Recipients must enroll in a degree program at a trade school or college.

Dr. George Richmond Memorial Scholarship- Sunrise Optimist Club of St. Joseph
Amount:$1000 Deadline: March 13, 2022
This scholarship is open to all graduating seniors in Andrew and Buchanan counties that are attending Missouri Western State University in the Fall of 2022. The scholarship will be split over the course of 2 semesters. Students must obtain 3 letters of recommendation, which are the most important. Winner must attend an Optimist meeting to talk about themselves and their goals.

Students must reside in Buchanan or Andrew County, possess good personality traits, are of good moral character, have been active in school and community activities, and have an ACT score of 18. Students attending a Trade School must have a 2.5 GPA and those attending a college/university must have a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must show extreme financial need - tax forms 1040 for both applicant (if available) and parents for the current and previous tax years (2019 & 2020). It is renewable for up to 4 years, but the student must fill out a renewable application each year.

Andrew Co MRTA (MO Retired Teachers & Public School Personnel) Scholarship
Amount: $500 Deadline: April 8, 2022
The MRTA Scholarship will be presented to one graduating senior from each high school in Andrew County: North Andrew and Savannah.
The amount of the scholarship will be determined annually, based upon funds available.
The expected amount is five hundred dollars ($500.00). The scholarship money will be paid to the
college or university specified by the student AFTER he/she successfully completes two semesters of
class work at the specified institution (or earned one semester of college credit during the student’s
senior year in high school and one semester of work at the specified college).

Wells Bank of Platte County Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2022
Wells Bank will sponsor $1,500 college scholarships for high school seniors in Platte County, Andrew County, Holt County and Nodaway County. The scholarship is to be used towards enrollment of a four-year university. The scholarships will be payable as follows: $1,000 the first year and $500 the second year. To receive $500 the second year, the student must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average their first year while enrolled as a full time student.

The individual must qualify as a low income student planning to attend a vocational school, two year or four year college.

Natalie Thompson-Clizer Memorial Scholarship
Award: $200 Deadline: April 1, 2022
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a family in need in Andrew County to continue his/her professional development through enrollment in a Missouri College or University. The scholarship committee will evaluate the applicants on basis of need, completeness, clarity, student potential, and appropriateness. First preference will be given to those enrolled in a humanitarian course of study. Al else being equal, preference will be given to hose enrolling at Missouri Western State University.

Candidate must intend to continue his/her education in an office-related business program. Candidate may be a graduating senior who has made an application to continue his/her education, The candidate shall be enrolled/expect to be enrolled as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution
of higher education (two or four-year college/university, business school, or vocational-technical
school/institute).
The candidate must maintain a 2.8 gpa (4.0 scale) for the period of the scholarship.

Amount: $1,500 Deadline: April 1, 2022
- A selection committee will consider applicants' scholastic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community activities, citizenship and moral character, and educational goals.
- Scholarships will be given without regard to race, creed, religion, national origin, or gender of prospective recipients. Children of any Shelter Insurance Agent or employee are NOT eligible recipients of scholarships.

This scholarship is awarded to two North Andrew students in the amount of $250 for any student entering

Students must be a graduating senior from a High School within the boundaries of Andrew or Buchanan County that resides in Buchanan or Andrew County, must have an ACT score of 18 or better. Students must be attending a 4 year accredited college/ university or a Junior College or Vo-Tech School/Trade School. Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Award: 2 X $500 Deadline: April 1, 2022
To be eligible for the scholarship, interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a female;
- Must be a graduating high school senior;
- Must attend school or live within the Missouri counties of Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Nodaway, Platte, or Worth;
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Patriot Guard Riders Scholarships
Award: 4 scholarships Deadline: April 1, 2022
The Patriot Guard Riders of Missouri are offering four scholarships to Missouri students who are sons or daughters of those who fall within the following categories:
(1) Those who have given their lives in the line of duty, including both military and first responder (police/fire)
(2) Those honorably discharged veterans who have passed after their term of service
(3) Those veterans or first responders disabled in the line of duty to the extent that providing an advanced education cannot be easily realized
These scholarships are non-renewable, and consist of one award in the amount of $2,000, and three awards in the amount of $1,000 each, to be awarded to four deserving Missouri students to help defray cost at any accredited institution of higher learning, including vocational and business schools.

These scholarships are available to graduating seniors that live in the counties of coverage provided by Mosaic Life Care, which includes, North Andrew. American Legion Scholarships
Basic Criteria for ALL American Legion Scholarship Awards (listed below)
The student must be a resident of Missouri. Applicants must be under the age of 21, unmarried
and a descendant* of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in the U. S. Army, Navy,
Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, who received an Honorable Discharge for such service. A
photocopy of the veteran's DD, discharge or separation notice must accompany the
scholarship application. Any additional requirements for each scholarship listed below.

Deadline for ALL American Legion Scholarships: April 22, 2022
- Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship Fund -
Awarded to boy who has attended or has been selected to attend The American Legion Boys State of
Missouri or a full session of the Departments Cadet Patrol Academy. The second award is given
to a girl who has attended or has been selected to attend The American Legion Auxiliary's Girls
State program or a full session of the Departments Cadet Patrol Academy.
- M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Fund -
This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse, and may be used in their
freshman or subsequent college years. The student must have graduated in the top forty percent
of their high school class or have a; or equivalent standing from their last college or
university semester.
- Joseph J. Frank Scholarship –
Descendants of a veteran. Applicant must have attended the 2021 or has been selected to
attend the 2022 session of The American Legion Boys State or The American Legion Auxiliary
Girls State program. Applicants must be unmarried, under the age of 21, a current resident of the
state of Missouri and must use the scholarship as a full time student in an accredited college or
university.
- Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship -
Given annually in memory of the first Missourian to serve as National Commander of The American Legion.
Eligible are individuals who are currently members of The American Legion, the American
Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of The American Legion, or a descendant* of a member of any
thereof. Applicants must be unmarried, a resident of Missouri, under the age of 21, and must use
the scholarship as a full-time student in an accredited college or university.
- Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship -
Given annually to a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this Past National Executive
Committeeman from Missouri. To be eligible, individuals must: (1) be a descendant* of a
veteran who served 90 or more days of active duty in the armed forces and having an honorable
discharge; (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited
college or university; (4) provide a copy of the discharge certificate for the veteran on whose the
application is made; and (6) submit an essay of 500 words or less on the
subject In your opinion, what was the most significant world event of this past year?
- Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship -
annually. (1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for
the award. (2) The nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic and leadership abilities. The
nominee should be deeply involved in community and school activities. (4) Must use the award
as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

Missouri Society of Professional Engineers- Northwest Chapter Scholarship Program
Award: $1500 Deadline: April 30, 2022
This scholarship is available to high school seniors, who are planning on enrolling in an engineering program that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology
(ABET-EAC) at one of the following state institutions. (Listed in the link below)
Applicants but have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades with a minimum ACT score of 26 in Math and 24 in English.

Award: $1,000 Deadline: April 30, 2022
Men and Women, attending a vocational/technical school, and pursuing a certificate or associates degree in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair, are eligible to apply. The St. Francis Hospital Foundation offers a nursing scholarship. The Stoll Scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $2,000 to a student residing in Nodaway County and enrolled in a nursing program.
